The following is a record of the adventures and voyages of our AD&D 3rd edition campaign.

"Bringing Down the House, Into the Depths"
The party finishes searching the dead orc bodies and Kaelith reades to open thw next door deeper into the cavern.
Just then, the secret door they came through opens and out comes a small halfling dressed in only a cloak. The
party readies for combat but the small adventurer explains that he means no harm. He tells the party that he
learned of their travels through the rogue guild in ______ and of their plans to ambush the party upon their return.
He also tells them that on his way into Stonetooth, he passed a large group of orcs returning from a raid. They
should be returning within a couple hours. The party is a bit wary of this new fellow but he states that he's
interested in ancient relics of a puzzle nature. Knowing that one skilled in the arts of the detection and removal
of traps is a valuable one indeed, the party welcomes Bipdo into their growing group.
As Bipdo talks with Higor concerning the state of the coming orcs, Kaelith decides to open the door on the side
of the room. Hadnan and Telemir follow the minotaur into the room and are surprised by sixteen large insect-like
creatures about a foot in diameter. The stirges swooped down out of the darkness and began attaching themselves
to the armor of the 3 comrades. The last of them cleaved from the air but not before two manage to suck 8 points
of constitution damage from Telemir.
The party deliberates lengthily on whether or not to abandon the stronghold and return another time since the spellcasters
are low on spells but finally the agreement is reached that they would have a better chance with defense and
surprise rather than a re-entry into the stronghold after the orcs are aware of their presence. With everyone's
help, they make arrangements to capture the orc raiding party by surprise. They douse several flasks of oil over
the entryway floor and place several other backup traps in the event they will need to retreat further into the
stronghold. Archers are placed at each murder hole and several moltov cocktails are prepared and readied.
Eventually the orc raiding party makes their way into the entrance and up to the locked front door. As the orcs
filter in a bit more and begin to clog the entrance-way Bipdo drops a flask of alchemist's fire onto the floor
at the rear of the pack while Telemir fires a flaming arrow from one of the murder holes onto the oil soaked
entryway.
Overtaken by surprise, the orcs scream in terror as the floor beneath them ignites into flame. Arrows are loosed
from the murder holes taking down orcs in the line as they begin a haphazard retreat. Chaos erputs in the
entranceway as orcs are brought down with arrows while others still burn. The passageway becomes clogged in the
confusion. Suddenly, a mighty explosion issues forth from the entrace area. Many or the orcs are incinerated
in the blast as the fire guts out the passageway. The great stone door is blown into the chasm room and Higor ducks
behind the massive boulder just before it slams into the wall behind him. Tremors rock the mighty stronghold as the
walls and ceilings of the entranceway collapse and rain down onto the score of terrified orcs below.
The walls of the area where the party are, crack and begin to crumble as the party makes a hasty retreat into the
depths of the stronghold.
Meanwhile, Higor the Elven Wizard and Raltar, the Dwarven Cleric do their best to dodge falling debris. The cavern
is thick with smoke and dust. Higor looks over to his comrade after the dust settles a bit and notices the
sturdy dwarf is covered with several large boulders. Frantically he claws at the debris and begins digging his
friend out hoping beyond hope that there is still breath within him.
The party makes their way around to Higor and sees the nearly lifeless body of Raltar in the hands of the
Elven Wizard. The minotaur hoists the dwarf onto his shoulders gently and they move back into the main storage area
of the stronghold. There, with the help of Telemir, they began to nurse Raltar back to health and assess their
new situation.

During the second part of the evening, Kaelith keeps watch on the room beyond the iron bars where they encountered
the stirges the day before. In that room a stairway descends down further into the mountain.
